Summary

The authors present a local study of the temperature distribution on a circular plane fin in a finned-tube bundle, in aligned or in staggered arrangement. The temperature distribution on the fin was obtained by an experimental approach, using the infrared thermography technique. The Reynolds number corresponded to the maximum velocity of the air between 1.3 and 18.4 m/s. The influence of the Reynolds number, the geometry and position of the tube bundle was studied, and found in good agreement with the previous results in the literature. Moreover, the study helps to foresee the regions where condensation appears.
