Summary

A transcritical CO2 visualization ejector was designed to visualize the internal flow phenomena and to measure the pressure as well as temperature in the primary nozzle. Phase change was detected through the direct photography method and the pressure as well as temperature in the primary nozzle was measured simultaneously. The experiment results showed that phase change occurred at the divergent section of the primary nozzle and the position of phase change related to the primary flow pressure. It was also indicated that the nonlinear pressure drop gradient existed in the primary nozzle. In addition, experiment results suggested that it was feasible to measure the pressure and temperature of the two-phase flow in the primary nozzle of a transcritical CO2 ejector during the visualization experiment.
