Measuring pressure and temperature profiles along capillary tubes.

Summary

An experimental set-up to analyze the refrigerant flow through adiabatic capillary tubes is described in detail. The operating conditions and the capillary tubes' geometry were evaluated with great care. The pressure taps effects on the flow pattern was evaluated by measuring the mass flow rate and the temperature profiles along the same capillary tubes, with and without pressure taps. Detailed data are given.
