Experimental and numerical study of the flow through non adiabatic capillary tubes with lateral and concentric capillary tube-suction line heat exchanger configuration.

Summary

The paper presents a numerical and experimental analysis of non-adiabatic capillary tubes. In order to get reliable experimental data for the validation studies of the numerical model, an experimental apparatus was built. In this facility both usual configurations of capillary tube-suction line heat exchanger, concentric and lateral tubes, can be tested, but only the concentric design and R12 has been tested so far. Tests using R134a will be reported in the future. Measured profiles are compared with the results presented by the numerical model. The numerical model was used for testing the influence of several parameters.
