Summary
A theoretical and experimental study has been performed to evaluate the coil rigidity. A two-dimensional finite element analysis of the composite structure is used to interpret the experimental results. It was found that the sample coil received the bending moments, so the bending effect should be considered. The validity and limitations of analytical and numerical techniques for evaluating the coil rigidity was examined.
