Summary
MECHANICAL VAPOUR COMPRESSION IS A PROCESS WITH A VERY HIGH ENERGETIC EFFICIENCY AND IS BASED ON THE INCREASE OF TEMPERATURES BY MEANS OF HIGH EFFICIENCY TURBOCOMPRESSORS FOR THE VAPOUR COMING FROM BOILING LIQUIDS. AT PRESENT THE MOST INTERESTING INDUSTRIAL SECTOR IS THE FOOD INDUSTRY (DAIRY AND SUGAR INDUSTRIES AND BREWERIES IN PARTICULAR). CONSIDERABLE DEVELOPMENTS ARE ALSO EXPECTED IN THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY. PROSPECTS FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS CONSIDER ABOUT 150 NEW INSTALLATIONS, MOSTLY UTILIZING RADIAL TURBO-DRIVEN COMPRESSORS.
