Summary
This paper presents a novel approach to evaluate the operation performance and the potential performance improving of HVAC systems. The definition of relative efficiency and concordance ratio are set up; then the concordance level and the realizable ideal concordance ratio are presented as the evaluation index and benchmark. The evaluation method is validated with the simulation of a central chiller system. The conventional control strategy and the optimal control strategies are evaluated and the potential performance improving of the system is analyzed.
