Summary

This work presents an evaluation of the current methods used by the leading valve manufacturers, to describe their TEVs (the dynamic superheat model and the 14th dimension diagram). After this evaluation, the paper presents a method to extract the necessary information, to create an object oriented mathematical model for TEV from these sources. This new mathematical model is based on semi-empirical formulations and can be integrated into an A/C simulation tool, for example Dymola/Modelica, in order to investigate the behaviour of the whole A/C system.
