THE BALLAST CHARGE OF A BULB OF A THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE COMPRISES A LOW QUANTITY OF MEDIUM AND A VOLUMINOUS POROUSBODY. IT SLOWS DOWN THE BULB REACTION. ITS INFLUENCE ON THE OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES OF THE EXPANSION VALVE IS STUDIED, AND THESE TIMES ARE COMPARED TO THOSE OBTAINED WITH A UNIVERSAL CHARGE AND WITH A MOP CHARGE.
