MINIMUM WETTING RATE OF FILM FLOW ON SOLID SURFACE.

Author(s) : TANG J., et al.

Summary

AN EQUATION TO CALCULATE THE MINIMUM WETTING RATE IN FALLING FILM FLOW IS PRESENTED. WHEN TO BE USED ON VERTICAL PLATE, IT IS IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH HOBLER'S AND HEWITT'S EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. FURTHERMORE, WHEN IT IS EXTENDED TO HORIZONTAL TUBES, ONE CAN DETERMINE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MINIMUM WETTING RATE OUTSIDE HORIZONTAL TUBES AND THAT ON VERTICAL PLATE. AN EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO VERIFY THE THEORETICAL ANALYSIS.
