Summary
The nominal design parameters of heat pumps define only one balance point of their performance. Their real use is connected with operating conditions, which differ from the nominal. The performance of a heat pump with a particular design in a wide range of operating conditions can be identified by model investigations as well as experimentally in a laboratory or on site. This paper offers an approach for creating a model of water-to-water heat pumps for simulation of their performance. The models of the heat exchangers are based on the method with the number of exchanger heat transfer units, while the model of the compressor is obtained by approximation of the experimental data of its performance.
