Summary
This is the third paper of series dealing with ground heat exchangers. In the first paper (“TCHK” 9/2011, pp. 438-444) theoretical background of heat transfer in such heat exchangers has been given. In the second paper (“TCHK” 12/2011, pp. 546-557) the method for evaluation of thermal ground properties called Thermal Response Test has been described. In this part different advanced projects of vertical ground heat exchangers are presented. They are based on the concept of “U-tube” or “tube in tube” design. Results of simulation with the use of Earth Energy Designer program for different heat exchanger configurations are compared.
