Summary
A MOPTR without a reservoir is suggested in the paper. In the modified arrangement, the crankcase of the compressor is used instead of the reservoir to bring about the appropriate phase shift between the pressure and the flow velocity in the pulse tube. Numerical analyses and experiments have verified that the MOPTR could operate as successfully as a conventional OPTR.
