Summary

The results indicate that hypothermia caused splitting of the cross-bridges among glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) bundles but not depolymerization of GFAP itself, whereas the breakdown of cross-linkings among microfilament bundles and the self depolymerization of microfilaments proceeded progressively. It could be that the above-mentioned changes of cytoskeletons may affect various biological processes related to the network of GFAP and microfilaments.
