Summary

Literature concerning the avoidance and treatment of diseases in cold-stored oranges is reviewed. The importance for plant breeders of considering varietal reaction to cold storage is emphasized, and the reaction to cold storage of 4 new Tarocco oranges (Sciré, Gallo 3, Meli and Vitale) is discussed.
