Summary

A new range of multivane rotary compressors is being offered as comparable in efficiency to reciprocating or scroll compressors and better than screw compressors in small sizes. The sliding vane material is a carbon fibre compound causing negligible out-of-balance forces and having good wear characteristics. The machines have in-built discharge oil separation and non-return valves at suction and discharge, also economiser connections part way through rotation. Oil cooling is offered. The COP is comparable or slightly better than reciprocating or scroll compressors over wide operating ranges. Design is suitable for use with HFC and HCFC refrigerants and ammonia, and semi-hermetic motor assemblies are available. The compressors can be used for air-conditioning and refrigeration in any application from 15 to 50 kilowatts motor sizes. Robust construction and almost no vibration makes them particularly suitable for transport. D.W.H.
