Multivariable control of integrated distillation towers with heat pump.

Summary
A multivariable constrained predictive control program has been used to control two distillation towers with a heat pump. Selecting controlled and manipulated process variables was done so that an external optimizer could easily optimize the process. In addition, the controller was designed by specifying process output responses to setpoint changes and using a simplex optimization technique for calculating the optimal set of input and output weighting factors.
