Summary
HIGH INSULATION TECHNOLOGY HAS RESULTED IN WINDOWS OF EXTREMELY LOW U-VALUES, DOWN TO 0.6 W/M2 K COMBINED WITH A HIGH SOLAR (0.5) AND VISUAL (0. 63) TRANSMISSION. ALL THERMAL BRIDGES EXISTING IN TRADITIONAL WINDOWS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED. THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE NEW WINDOWS ARE PRESENTED AND THE TEST RESULTS DISCUSSED. TO A HIGH REDUCTION OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION, COMFORT IS VERY MUCH IMPROVED, YIELDING NEW PERSPECTIVES FOR HVAC SYSTEMS. FIRST EXPERIENCES WITH DIFFERENT SYSTEMS IN OCCUPIED FULL-SIZE ROOMS ARE REPORTED AND DISCUSSED.
