Summary

Indoor air conditioning noise must be estimated by suitable noise indices. Italian standards refer only to the "A" weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level and low reference values that are too low. The late standards distinguish between the noise emission and emission through only the latter must be suitably limited; these standards in most cases do not imply the application of the differential criterium which should allow greater protection of the environment.
