Summary
The real performance of cooled and adiabatic absorbers is demonstrated by several case studies. The cases were simulated numerically by a mathematical model for simultaneous heat and mass transfer of falling liquid film equipment. The calculated charts show the performance of absorbers depending on the entrance film Reynolds number and the cooling conditions. The possibility of exchange area savings of absorbers due to reflux of the rich solution is studied.
