Numerical simulation on a counter flow falling film dehumidifier with different boundary conditions.

Author(s) : SUN J., SHI M. H.

Summary

In the last few years, there has been a renewed interest in solar liquid desiccants air conditioning. A model of simultaneous heat and mass transfer of vapour absorption process in a falling film dehumidifier is developed in this paper. The governing equations with different boundary and interfacial conditions describing the dehumidifying process are set up. The calcium chloride is applied as the desiccant. The dehumidifying process between falling liquid desiccant film and process air with isothermal and adiabatic boundary condition is analyzed and calculated, respectively. Temperature distribution and outlet parameters for both the process air and the desiccant solution are obtained. The results can be offered to improve the performance of dehumidifier, optimization design, operating and modulating of solar liquid desiccant air-conditioning system.
