Numerical study on transient heat and mass flow of He II through porous media.

Author(s) : HAMAGUCHI S., BAUDOUY B.

Summary

Transient heat transfer of He II through porous media have been studied numerically. The numerical model is based on the two-fluid model of He II with the Gorter-Mellink mutual friction and deals with the friction loss of normal fluid component and the tortuosity in the porous media. The temperature increases of He II were calculated versus width of microchannels in porous media and helium volume between the heater and the porous media. In this paper, the transient heat transfer of He II through porous media is discussed based on comparison of numerical results with previous experiments.
