Summary

Heat transport in a pressurized He II channel with abrupt change of cross-sectional area have been studied, using two-dimensional numerical code based on the two-fluid model. The analyzed channel is 99-mm long and has a 40-mm long contraction with area ratio of 0.05 to the channel. A heat is applied to the channel from one end, while the other end is open to the He II bath. The temperature distribution and flow velocity vectors of He II in the channel were calculated with a steady-state heat input. The paper discusses the effects on heat transport performance.
