Summary

Problems of oil pressure balancing in refrigerating or air conditioning units composed of two or several hermetic compressors in parallel. The authors describe various systems for "oil management": mechanical balancing, static balancing, dynamic balancing, dynamic system with oil separator and gas throttling on suction line. Oil pressure balancing can be performed through an adequate calculation of the pipe size and pressure losses. They show how this makes it possible to ensure the safe operation of the unit under partial load.
