Olfactory analysis of postharvest apples by an electronic sensing device.

Summary

Greenwich University in collaboration with the Natural Resources Institute has been developing a cheap and reliable prototype electronic sensor array, comprising six semi-conducting metal oxide sensors. The paper outlines the technology and the methods of data analysis employed in the instrument. Finally, the paper reports the findings arising from a study of the aromas for five varieties or postharvest apples.
