Summary

IN THIS TECHNICAL NOTE SOME EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED USING A SUITABLY HYBRIDIZED SINGLE STAGE GIFFORD-MCMAHON CRYOCOOLER ARE PRESENTED. REGENERATOR EFFICIENCY VALUES ARE GIVEN FOR DIFFERENT MATRIX CONFIGURATIONS. BY A PARTICULAR < MICROSPHERE BED > CONFIGURATION THE AUTHORS ATTAIN A MINIMUM WORKING TEMPERATURE OF 35 K AND A NET REFRIGERATION POWER GREATER THAN 6 W AT LIQUID NITROGEN TEMPERATURE.
