Summary
The paper is focused on processes in the Latent Heat Energy Storage System (LHES). Although simple enough, the analytical approach based on CVSM (Convective Simple Model) provides not better understudying of the process only, but also could be applied for analysis is of other similar problems. The model could be useful for steady, as well as transient state analysis of LHES. It is shown that, depending on the initial state of liquid phase and the heat exchange regime, a few characteristic regimes appear: "pure" melting or freezing mode, and combination of both of them. Using the similarity between the flow with phase change and flow of the monophase fluid along isothermal wall, their convective coefficients are compared.
