Opening mechanism of compressor valve in the presence of oil.

Summary

In the paper, valve dynamics before the rupture of the oil film is analyzed. A set of differential equations is derived to describe the valve dynamics during this early stage of valve movement for both rigid and deflected valve reeds, and a criterion for film rupture is proposed to estimate the delay of the valve opening.
