Author(s) : GUINN G. R., NOVELL B. J.

Summary

THE SPRAYER IS A SYSTEM TO CONTROL AND DIRECT A FINE MIST OF WATER ONTO THE HEAT TRANSFER SURFACES, THEREBY ENHANCING THE HEAT REJECTION RATE AND IMPROVING OVERALL SYSTEM PERFORMANCE. THE UNIT WAS TESTED OVER A WIDE RANGE OF DRY BULB AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY CONDITIONS OF THE AIR ENTERING THE CONDENSER. THE SPRAY WAS FOUND TO INCREASE THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY RATIO BY 12% TO 19%. THE COMPRESSOR HEAD PRESSURE WAS REDUCED FROM 9% TO 17%.
