SHOWS THE ANNUAL ENERGY BALANCES OF EIGHT COMBINED ABSORBER/HEAT PUMP INSTALLATIONS WITH VARIOUS TYPES OF ABSORBER (BOTH SURFACE AND COMPACT TYPES). 46-65% OF HEATING ENERGY WAS OBTAINED FROM THE ENVIRONMENT. GIVES HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS VS WIND SPEED FOR A NUMBER OF DESIGNS AND INDICATES THE INFLUENCE OF THE ABSORBER SIZE ON THE OUTPUT PERFORMANCE OF THE HEAT PUMP. STATES THAT UNCOMPLICATED, WELL-PLANNED, ABSORBER INSTALLATIONS HAVE PROVED THEMSELVES IN OPERATION.
