Summary
The Telemetry Exchange service (TEMEX) of the German Post Office's Telecommunications Division has been available to customers for the past two years. The service uses existing telephone lines to transmit data at low fixed rates and in a given format with nearly 100 percent redundancy. Data and voice transmissions can occur simultaneously at differing frequencies on the same lines.
