Summary

THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL CONSISTED OF 2 PARTS, ONE INCLUDING EQUATIONS DESCRIBING THE DYNAMICS OF THE PROCESS, AND THE SECOND ONE DEALING WITH OPTIMIZATION CRITERIA. THE DATA OBTAINED FROM 4,500 EXPERIMENTS WERE THE STARTING POINT FOR DETERMINATING FUNCTIONAL MAXIMA AND VALUE OF PARAMETERS. THESE INCLUDE DENSITY OF THE INITIAL HEAT FLUX, DIMENSIONS OF THE MATERIAL BEING DRIED, FREEZE-DRYING, AND MAXIMAL TEMPERATURES OF THE MATERIAL BEING FREEZE-DRIED.
