Summary

DEPENDING ON THE TYPE AND NUMBER OF COLD-WATER UNITS, IT IS PO SSIBLE TO SPECIFY OPTIMUM CONNECTION CONFIGURATIONS FOR CENTRAL HEATING PLANTS WITH HEAT PUMPS, IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST ENERGY EFFICIENCY. THE MOST FAVOURABLE CHOICE OF PARALLEL AND SERIES CONNECTION OF EVAPORATORS AND CONDENSERS IN THE COLD-AND HOT-WATER FLOW SHOULD OI6 THE SERIES CONNECTION OF THE FLOW RESISTANCES OF THE EQUIPMENT MAY RESULT IN HYDRAULIC TROUBLES IF VARYING RATES OF FLOW ARE USED. THESE TROUBLES CAN, HOWEVER, BE EFFECTIVELY ELIMINATED BY VARIABLE-SPEED PUMP DRIVES.
