Summary

THE ARTICLE DRAWS ATTENTION ON THE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE OF A MANUFACTURER OF A GREAT NUMBER OF HEAT PUMPS. THE HEAT PUMP SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR A MINIMUM WATERFLOW THROUGH THE CONDENSER-HEAT EXCHANGER. THIS WATERFLOW AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FIXED SUPPLY TEMPERATURE AND THE RETURN TEMPERATURE, AS LOW AS POSSIBLE, BOTH RESULT FROM THE BUILDING ENVELOPE HEAT LOSSES AND THE USERS CONTROL AT THE TERMINAL UNIT. CONSEQUENTLY, AN IMPROVEMENT OF THE RATIO OF HEAT OUTPUT TO NET ENERGY SUPPLY REQUIRED, CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED.
