Summary

THE AUTHORS DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING DURING THE RESUMING OF OPERATION OF AIR-COOLERS AFTER DEFROSTING. THEY SUMMARISE ACTUAL ASPECTS. USING A COMPUTER, THEY ESTABLISHED A MATHEMATICAL MODEL,ALLOWING FOR HEAT AND WATER VAPOUR TRANSFERS. THEY GIVE THE RESULTS OBTAINED AND THE CURVES SHOWING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CALCULATION AND TEST DATA. THEY DRAW PRACTICAL CONCLUSIONS FOR THE REFRIGERATIONIST, THE INSULATION ENGINEER AND THE MANAGER. IN THE SECOND PART, THEY CALCULATE THE EFFECT OF VARIOUS FACTORS ON THE DIMENSIONING OF COMPENSATORY OPENINGS. L.R.
