Summary
The thermally induced acoustic effect occurring in a regenerator with a temperature gradient has been observed on a particularly built regenerator experimental set-up attached to a Stirling cryocooler system. The model vividly shows the influence on the whole system of the change in flow impedance in the regenerator caused by the change in temperature gradient.
