Particle management for HVAC systems.
Author(s) : OTTNEY T. C.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Dusts in a ventilation system, if not removed in a filter, will settle in other zones, where it is much more difficult and expensive to remove. The art of particle management is to trap these dusts where they can be most easily removed. Weak points are badly fitting filters and filter frames, duct joints and gaps on the low pressure side of the ducting circuit, dirt dislodged during servicing, filter damage and a number of other possible faults. Periodic inspection and logging of system pressures will indicate problems. A.R.T.
