PASSIVE SOLAR FLOORS.
Author(s) : HAGER N. E. Jr
Type of article: Article
Summary
UNDER THE SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF SUNLIGHT FALLING ON A RELATIVE THIN FLOOR COVERING ATTACHED TO A MASSIVE SLAB, THE NET HEAT FLOW INTO THE FLOOR SYSTEM CAN BE CLOSELY APPROXIMATED WITH SIMPLE STEADY STATE EQUATIONS. THE SIMPLIFICATION PROVIDES A SYSTEMATIC ENGINEERING BASIS FOR ESTIMATING THE SOLAR STORAGE PERFORMANCE OF COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE FLOOR COVERINGS. E.W.S.
