Making the most of passive solar design.

Author(s) : VAUGHAN N., JONES P.

Type of article: Article

Summary

New developments in natural lighting and passive heating for buildings need to be carried through exactly as designed, or may fail. There is a need to explain the principles to builders and users. If not, mistakes or omissions may occur and the system does not work as planned. Typical errors are the erection of opaque partitions, mis-use of blinds and over-ventilation. A.R.T.
