Performance analysis of a dehumidification system employing two desiccant solutions.

Summary

A novel two-stage liquid desiccant dehumidification system using CaCl2 and LiCl solution separately is studied for increasing dehumidification performance and lower desiccant solution investment. Process air is predehumidified by CaCl2 in the first stage dehumidifier, and further dehumidified in the second stage dehumidifier by LiCl. Large desiccant concentration variance is achieved in this system. Thermal COP and exergy efficiency is calculated for the proposed system compared with dehumidification system using cost effective liquid desiccant proposed by Ertas.
