Summary
The operation of a lithium bromide absorption heat pump, which is on the market for industrial applications, was simulated by a numerical model, previously validated against experimental data from a conventional absorption machine. This absorption heat pump allows the thermal energy to be upgraded from 30-40 to 90 deg C by using steam at 170 deg C as heating fluid. This machine proved to be competitive in certain cases. E.F.
