Summary
A METHOD FOR PRESENTING THE HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP CHARACTERISTICS OF INDUSTRIAL FINNED TUBES IS PROPOSED. DIMENSIONAL HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP PARAMETERS ARE DEFINED. THIS FORM OF DATA PRESENTATION ELIMINATES UNCERTAINTIES INHERENT IN THE EVALUATION OF THE FIN-SIDE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT, FIN EFFICIENCY, THERMAL CONTACT RESISTANCE, ETC. EXISTING PERFORMANCE CORRELATIONS ARE TRANSFORMED TO THE PROPOSED FORM OF PRESENTATION AND ARE COMPARED TO NEW EXPERIMENTAL DATA OBTAINED FROM WIND-TUNNEL TESTS.
