Summary

This paper analyses the performance of a gas-driven Vuilleumier refrigerator. Taking the prototype Vuilleumier heat pump as an example, it analyses the factors effecting on the performance of this refrigerator. The result indicates that the refrigerating performance is improved with higher working pressure, when the cold temperature decreases and refrigerating capacity and coefficient both decrease. At some speed of rotation, the refrigerating capacity reaches the maximum and the refrigerating coefficient decreases when the speed of rotation increases. Through the experiment, the effect of the three working gases on the performance of the gas driven Vuilleumier refrigerator is obtained.
