Summary
The paper investigates all contribution factors that could affect energy cost of air-conditioning systems with ice storage as one of cooling sources. The factors are consolidated through assessment process of an existing partial ice storage air-conditioning system in Hong Kong. The findings indicate that the energy consumption of the ice storage air-conditioning system increases significantly while the associated energy cost is deduced. The main factor is how to fine tuning the control strategies of the system and suppress the maximum electricity demand charge effectively.
