Type of article: Article

Summary

The article describes a field study in a Hong Kong office building where a reduced static pressure control algorithm was applied to the variable air volume air conditioning system. The control algorithm minimized static pressure in the main air ducts by varying the static pressure set-point. The researchers report that the algorithm led to an annual energy saving of between 8-9% without loss of thermal comfort or indoor air quality.
