Performance of nozzle-sprayed ammonia evaporator with square-pitch plain-tube bundle.

Summary
A spray evaporation experiment was conducted using nozzles distributing liquid ammonia on a horizontal plain-tube bundle composed of stainless-steel tubes of 19.1 millimeter diameter. Heat transfer coefficient data were collected. The effects of heat flux, saturation temperature, spray flow rate, nozzle height, and nozzle type were investigated. Results and comparison are given.
