Performance of pulse-tube refrigerators in cryogenic and moderate temperature ranges.

Summary
Cooling performance of pulse-tube refrigerators was investigated in a temperature range from about 270 to 80 K to apply cooling systems for a temperature range higher than the liquid nitrogen temperature. Helium and nitrogen were used as a working gas. Two kinds of connecting tubes between a hot end of pulse tube to a reservoir were tested. It is found that performance of refrigerator with nitrogen is more influenced by the connecting tube than that with helium, and pulse tube refrigerators that are designed and optimized for helium didn't always work as refrigerators with high performance for nitrogen.
