Summary

DESCRIBES A STUDY IN SEVEN NEW JERSEY HOUSES WITH BASEMENTS TO MONITOR THE PERFORMANCE OF FIVE TYPES OF RADON CONTROL TECHNIQUES INSTALLED IN THEM. CONTINUOUS AND PERIODIC MULTIPARAMETER DATA WERE COLLECTED AS MITIGATION SYSTEMS WERE CYCLED ON/OFF. DESCRIBES THE HOUSES AND THE MITIGATION TECHNIQUES. PRESENTS THE RESULTS. FINDS THAT SYSTEMS BASED ON SUBSURFACE VENTILATION BY DEPRESSURIZATION WERE THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND SUITABLE FOR THE LONG-TERM REDUCTION OF INDOOR RADON LEVELS.
