Summary
THIS PAPER REPORTS DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSONAL COOLING BELT USING A SHORT VORTEX TUBE. THE VORTEX TUBE USES COMPRESSED AIR AS THE WORKING SUBSTANCE AND CONVERTS ABOUT HALF OF IT INTO A COLD STREAM WHICH CIRCULATES IN THE WAIST BELT. TRIALS CONDUCTED ON VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS RESULTED IN SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE.
