Summary

Various devices and tests used by DCIEM (Defence and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine) in Canada are presented; this equipment is designed to cool the human body in various situations: heat-induced stress, in helicopters, in fighter planes, on warships, etc. The case of an isolated soldier is also discussed. This article reviews processes used over the past 20 years.
